The Collective

The Collective is an avenue to experience the work of artists, collaborators, and masters of their craft. At United Studio Collective, our mission is to bring artists together to create amazing visuals. Whether that is in the world of cinema, photography or anything somewhere in between! Modern culture tends to hyper-focus on the individual artist, USC aims to take a hold of that narrative and refocus it on all the amazing artists who are involved. This is the gateway to some of the phenomenal artists we have experienced in our journey of creating United Studio Collective. The list may seem small right now, it's only getting started!

Jessica N. Maxwell

Originally from New Jersey, Jessica N. Maxwell is a photographer and filmmaker now based in Los Angeles. Her journey into photography began at 16 in vocational school studying darkroom photography and visual communications, but her true calling came at age 12 when Steve McCurry's Afghan Girl inspired her to create safe spaces where people can tell their stories. Her work is shaped by extensive travels including Sri Lanka and Hawaii, capturing themes of community, slowness, and intentionality. When she's not behind the camera, you'll find her longboarding to the basketball court, surfing, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

From the Interview

“When I was about 12 years old, I was standing in my room, and I just remember feeling the weight of the world... I remember having a National Geographic magazine cover in my hands, and it was Steve McCurry's Afghan Girl. I just remember feeling like when I get through this thing, I want to create safe spaces in the world where people get to tell their story.”
